Software Developer (Working Student)

acemate is building an AI learning & teaching platform for higher and further education institutions. We have strong traction, secured funding and are entering an exciting growth phase. We're looking for a passionate Full-Stack Developer (Working Student) to drive our product forward and help us scale.

Tasks

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will adapt to your personal strengths and professional interests, covering both technical infrastructure and product development. Operating as a foundational member of the team, you will wield considerable impact over our overarching strategy, technical architecture, and product choices.

Product Development:

• Construct brand-new features and upgrade existing functionality in close collaboration with Paul and Emile
• Actively gather user insights and convert that feedback into tangible product enhancements

Technical Leadership:

• Guarantee system scalability and maintain robustness to support our ongoing expansion
• Consistently iterate on our AI toolchains to capitalize on the newest breakthroughs in AI
• Operate utilizing cutting-edge technology, focusing predominantly on infrastructure built across Cloudflare and Google Cloud

Examples from the past of what you might build:

• Duolingo-inspired daily quiz system designed to boost student engagement with their university curriculum
• Complex AI pipelines engineered to pull visual and textual data from a variety of documents, subsequently embedding those subjects into knowledge graphs
• Custom authorization engine built to manage the increasing complexity of various institutional environments

Tech Stack:

• Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS
• Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL)
• Infrastructure: Cloudflare (Workers, Pages, Workflows, R2, KV), Google Cloud (Gemini, Cloud Run)
• Tools: Sentry, Langfuse, PostHog, Stripe

Do not be concerned if you lack experience with every tool right out of the gate. We are confident in your capacity to rapidly upskill and seamlessly adapt to new frameworks and tools as our journey progresses.
