Aufgaben

We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Engineering Manager to strengthen our Tech Leadership team (team of six leaders). As Technical Leader you are managing your team (Houseowner & Service Request Acquisition) being responsible for enabling it to ensure high quality and performance. Simultaneously, you play a crucial role in influencing the Technical landscape.

The Houseowner & Service Request Acquisition team is the engine behind how Aroundhome attracts high-intent homeowners (for instance via organic traffic). We are operating in a rapidly changing landscape where AI-driven search and AI-overviews are fundamentally altering how users access information.

Our mission is to build a resilient acquisition strategy beyond the traditional Search Engine results page by positioning Aroundhome as the authoritative, structured source for home projects in the DACH region— not just for human users, but as a preferred data source for the AI systems that consume and rank content.

  • Product Engineering Leadership: You will lead a team of four engineers evolving toward a full-stack Product Engineering mindset where engineers are close to the product discovery process, allowing a better understanding of the Why, as well as the available data and its meaning.
  • AI-Assisted Development: You will champion the adoption of AI-assisted development workflows, ensuring your team leverages modern tooling (e.g. Cursor, CodeRabbit, AgentOS) to increase velocity and maintain high standards of code quality and performance.
  • AI Transformation Leader: You will guide your team through the shift toward AI-integrated search, ensuring our technical infrastructure (content scaling, structured data, and machine readability) is optimized for both current SEO and future AI-agent ecosystems.
  • Outcome-Focused Delivery: You prioritize lean, efficient execution over rigid process, focusing on rapid iteration and the measurable success of our acquisition channels.
  • Strategic Collaboration: You collaborate closely with various departments (e.g. Marketing, Content, and Brand) ensuring our scaling efforts across the DACH region are technically sound and data-driven.
  • People Development: You identify and promote talent through targeted coaching, ensuring team growth and high-performance standards align with the department vision.
  • Tech Leadership: You are part of the tech leadership team, report directly to the Director of Technology and are actively involved in the further design and scaling of Tech.

Anforderungen

  • Proven Leadership: You have several years (5+) of practical experience leading high-performing teams and have a track record of building and scaling engineering teams.
  • Transformation Expertise: You have demonstrated experience navigating teams through periods of significant technical and platform transformation—specifically regarding AI and other technology shifts.
  • Product Mindset: You thrive with a goal-focused approach, effectively guiding your teams to connect technology with user value while taking full ownership of the entire delivery process.
  • Technical Fluency: You have a deep understanding of modern engineering practices, supporting the team through difficulties and unpredictability, backed by solid data-driven decision-making.
  • Mindset & Drive: You are a people-first leader with a clear, persuasive communication style and a healthy dose of humor to keep the team energized through complex technical shifts.
